In the present scenario, every kid and every budding talent or the upcoming superstars rely upon an aluminum bat for success.

In due course of time, the aluminum bat has developed into a high tech and a light weight lethal weapon that guarantees tremendous amount of success.

But, the bitter fact is that this aluminum bat can actually affect the swing. Generally, it increases the habit of creating a “long swing”.

It is worth noticing that ninety percent of the kids who play baseball at the youth league level have long swings. Sooner or later, this habit of creating a long swing catches up to these budding superstars as they advance in their playing career and face better pitching.

Unfortunately, the kids are not given proper instructions now-a-days. It is frustrating to watch a player’s career spoil just because of incorrect instructions from the coach and the parents.

If proper instruction is given, these kids can surely have a shorter and a more explosive swing that can help them to succeed.

Actually, what happens is that due to the prolonged use of an aluminum bat over a number of years, most kids develop the muscle memory. It is due to this that they become habitual of making long swings.

Also, a “sweeping motion” is created in most kids’ swings after prolonged use of an aluminum bat. This sweeping motion causes them to actually drag the barrel of the bat through the strike zone!

Moreover, as the player sweeps the bat through the strike zone, he, unknowingly, trains his hands incorrectly to take the wrong path to the ball.

If you cannot afford to incorporate any of these bad habits into your swing, make minimal use of your aluminum bat and start practicing with wooden bats.
