So Many Einstein’s
The morning mist, insists there is a God.
The earth remains faithful to its orbit.
The comet cries out to a hundred planets.
The sun ascends over the horizon.
From eight to eighty, so many Einstein’s.
The evening dust descends over tired wings.
To those who write music, paint poetry,
I say: our goal is to make whole the sum;
Wherein, reason can dwell among everyone.
Dennis, some of that figurative verse is great;
Perhaps as good as anyone can make.

Just a Drop
In every drop of blood, rages war
For existence—
Even in-sects !…

Note: these two poems of Dennis Siluk’s reach out towards the world at large, with high spirits, wit and intensity; or so I do believe. What more can I say, except read them for yourself over a few times, see how they fit, or if you can absorb them. I like to read poetry at least three times; once quick to just get the words in my head; then the second time to kind of see how it is put together and check out the substance; and third for pure enjoyment, but sometimes I have to go back and see if I saw what I think I saw; like a painting, poetry can strike each person differently. It can trigger emotions like a movie. Anyhow, I read it a few more times especially if I see lots of images. Rosa Peñaloza

The new film contract for Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, entitled ‘Australia’ will commence filming in North Queensland Australia May 2007, and will be directed by the esteemed Baz Luhrmann.
It’s exciting for the Australians to see their Princess Nicole Kidman, who is also a Goodwill Ambassador at the United Nations Development Fund (Unifem), and has been a UNICEF Ambassador and spokesperson in Australia for the Child Welfare Organization since 1994, to be coming home with hubby Keith Urban. Keith is blasting off his grand tour for his new album Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing, in Australia, and reportedly will be teaming up with Nicole between their busy schedules, after Nicole completes her commitments for three current films in the United States.
Fan Magazines all over the UK and Australia are buzzing about the young couples return. Allegedly they live on a ranch in Nashville, and have been very happy there, and reportedly Nicole is also excited to be coming home considering her last Australia film, Moulin Rouge, was in 2000.
‘Australia’, the film title, will be filmed in North Queensland Australia, in the small but charming town of Bowen, which is north of the Whitsunday Islands. I went to Bowen last week, and met with some of the locals. At the casting session, the Aussie Barbie was sizzling, curious and eager townsfolk chatted amongst themselves waiting for their turn. They all agreed on one thing, they were very delighted to have Nicole and Hugh come to their home town. One local was quoted to say, “It was the most exciting thing to happen to Bowen since the Mango.” (Mangos are their main source of production.)
The filming will be commencing about the end of May. There will be horses, old homesteads, bush riders, and lots of bustles. Set in the 1930’s, Nicole Kidman plays an English Aristocrat who inherits a large ranch in Australia, that is about to be stolen by English Barons, and she hires a guide (Hugh Jackman) a bushy cattle driver, to drive 2,000 head of cattle across rugged and very dangerous terrain, to wind up facing the bombing of Darwin, shortly after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Reports reveal that Japanese pearl divers, Aborigines, and many locals are being cast to film in the bush, and will be part of the scheme. Aussie actor David Wenham will also be among the stars in this film, and I thought it looked like so much fun, I went for an audition, too.
It’s been widely reported that Nicole’s publicist Wendy Day said;
“She is still in LA finishing her commitments to films she has made over the last 12 months, before she leaves to come back to Australia for an extended period to make Australia,”
“She is very, very, very excited about coming back home. Obviously she can’t be going back to America for any commitments while she is here filming Australia, so that all has to be finished first.”
The plot for this film sounds very unparalleled to what has been filmed in Australia before. It’s a part of the Australian heritage, and Nicole Kidman is absolutely perfect for this role. It sounds as though it will be a challenge, as there is a lot of hands on with the livestock, but considering her former films, Cold Mountain with British Actor Jude Law, and Far and Away with Tom Cruise, she is no stranger to the urban life of the bush, and no doubt she will shine and adapt brilliantly.
That’s a wrap

Jack Steadman has been a constant member of the Kansas City Chiefs’ front office ever since the team was founded in 1960 as the AFL’s Dallas Texans. It would be strange not to see him anymore. This is because Steadman has announced that he would be retiring on January 31, 2007.
Steadman is the Chiefs’ vice chairman and he was the general manager when the Chiefs won their only Super Bowl title in 1969 season. He has been with the Chiefs for 47 years and during that time he has served as the team’s president, executive vice president and chairman. Steadman also received the credit for coming up with the side-by-side stadium layout at the Truman Sports Complex, Arrowhead Stadium and Royals’ Kauffman Stadium.
According to Chiefs’ chairman, Clark K Hunt, besides his father, Lamar, Steadman is the other person who influenced the Chiefs to such a large extent. In a statement issued by Hunt, he said that Steadman has supported the Hunt family a great deal and was the driving force behind every major initiative that they had taken.
Steadman was also instrumental in developing the Worlds of Fun theme park in Kansas City along with Lamar Hunt. With this retirement, Steadman will be also retiring as the chairman of Hunt Midwest Enterprises, which is a real estate development company that owns the world’s largest underground industrial park and has 50 percent interest in a limestone rock mining company, Hunt Martin Materials.
In his statement, Steadman said that he was honored to have worked with and for the people of Kansas City and he would always cherish the memories. He thanked Lamar Hunt and the Hunt family for their support friendship.
