Abundance Angel

Posted on Monday, August 31, 2009 in Uncategorized

Abundance Angel brings to me
Wealth, joy, love that I can see;
My feelings tingle as I perceive
Abundance I can hardly believe

Abundance of Wealth flows into me
Flooding my life with prosperity;
My abundance awakens my memory
Of the love I hold for all I see

Abundance of Joy makes my heart sing
As I thank you for the wealth you bring;
I chant with grace and harmony
As I live my life abundantly

Abundance of Love, you are real
As I open my heart to the warmth I feel;

Draw us together to hug and share,
And show one another that we care

Abundance Angel, I sing your praise
As you shower your gifts down in new ways;
We merge as one; we expand and grow
Swimming together in life’s flow

By George E. Lockett

I have been focusing on personal development for the last 32 years. This has involved the study of Yoga and Meditation and turning the attention in on itself.

This process has led me to some amazing realisations and understandings about who the person is within the body and how this personal awareness interacts with the Universal Mind of the Creator God.

Many years ago I started practising as a Spiritual Healer. I find the connection that I make to the more subtle energies within myself helps with the effectiveness of my Healing work. I have practised in most parts of the UK, taking a stand at Mind, Body and Spirit Fairs around the country and internationally.

I found also that being aware at these subtle levels opens one’s awareness to Spirit and allows the communication to take place between one’s senses and those people in Spirit that may wish to communicate from the other side of the veil. These gifts allow me to work as a Medium in the Spiritualist Churches.

How To Make A Dowsing Pendulum

Posted on Monday, August 31, 2009 in Uncategorized

A pendulum is a very useful communication tool for spiritual inquiring. When used in conjunction with a chart, it can be used for dowsing and divination. It can be used for the following:

1. Provide Yes/No responses and answers to queries. This is similar to muscle testing or applied kinesiology.

2. Provide more accurate answers to queries, such as degree, intensity or percentage.

There are commercial pendulums available on the market. Usually they can be bought from shops dealing with metaphysical or new age stuffs. However these shops are quite scarce and can be quite hard to find. Alternatively, pendulums can be ordered online through websites selling them.

This article is about making a do-it-yourself (D-I-Y) pendulum for dowsing. If you want to save some money or commercial pendulums are not available for you, you can opt to make one yourself.

Actually, to make a pendulum is not that difficult. We can always find substitutes for the various parts of a commercially-manufactured pendulum. The parts that need to be substituted are:

1. The bob which is the weight at the lower end of a pendulum.

2. The chain which connects the hand to the pendulum bob.

For the pendulum bob, we can use any reasonably weighted object. I personally, use arrow shaped pendants. In fact, the smaller-sized fishing weights can also be used. Although, I much prefer some pendants over fishing weights as they are more visually attractive than the latter. Pendants can be bought from fashion accessory stores. As for fishing weights, they can be found in large departmental stores as well as shops selling fishing equipments.

For the chain, they can be acquired from fashion accessory shops that sell necklaces and chains. Metal ones are preferred. The length of the chain should not be more than a foot. In my opinion, 1/2 to 3/4 of a foot is quite ideal.

Once we have the parts, all we need is to assemble them. At the tip of the pendant or fishing weight is usually a loop or ring. We need to hook one end of the chain through the ring (or loop) at the tip of the pendulum bob (which is either a pendant or fishing weight).

Normally, most chains are made up of many little metallic rings. To assemble the pendulum, we may need to pry open one of the metallic rings (at one end of the chain) and insert the loop/ring of the pendulum bob through it. After that, we will need to re-adjust the metallic ring (on the chain) back to its original closed-looped position. A long-nose plier is most suitable for doing these fine handiworks.

That’s all to making a pendulum for dowsing. Quite simple, isn’t it!

I hope this article is useful. Happy pendulum making.

My hero, my best friend, my “Grannio” (a.k.a my Grandmother)

Posted on Monday, August 31, 2009 in Uncategorized

She raised me like I was her own daughter from the day I was born 32 years ago.

She loved me like nobody else has ever loved me in my life.

She stood by through the most difficult days I’ve ever known.

She showed me more unconditional love and support than I’ve ever imagined.

She taught me how to live, how to love, how to be a lady, how to be a mommy and how to survive.

For 78 years, she had always been as healthy and stubborn as a mule.

About a year ago she stood by my side and fought tooth and nail to help me survive a bitter custody battle and win primary custody of my wonderful two year-old son, who is her only great-grandchild, and the love of her life and my life.

After fighting with everything she had inside of her and seeing me prevail in court, she suddenly became deathly sick. Within days she lost her ability to walk, eat, dress herself, or even get out of bed.

I quit my job to take care of her 24 hours a day. I spent every moment possible at her bedside, talking to her, trying to feed her, bathe her, brush her hair, change her clothes and make her take her medicine.

Finally my uncle, who lives 100 miles away from us, responded to my calls for help. He forced her to see a specialist in his home state.

She spent three months at one of the top hospitals in the country with more than ten doctors trying to figure out what was wrong with her. She suffered a heart attack. She had to be connected to life support. She was forced to have several emergency surgeries to remove a tumor, to remove a blood cot, and a few others to save her life, they said.

My son was not allowed to visit her. She cried a lot. She begged me to bring him. She asked for me constantly. I was told I couldn’t visit for various reasons, primarily, because I was too emotional. I called her every day until they took her phone away.

I thought she was going to die.

She gave me a list of things I had to know, like where the safety deposit keys were hidden, where her cash savings was stowed at the house, where the bank accounts were and how much money she had and who was supposed to get what when she died.

I prayed every day – several times a day. I began a nightly ritual with my son, who learned to say “God Bless Ger,” when he barely said other more common words, like “daddy.”

Somehow, some way, some where, God was listening. He gave me the greatest blessing and answered our prayers about a month ago. The doctors finally identified Grannio’s illness as ‘vasculitis’ and began intensive treatment.

Two weeks ago she was moved from the hospital to a rehabilitation center, just 10 miles from our home. She can’t walk and she is just beginning to regain use of her arms, but she’s alive. Thank God.

God granted us a miracle by giving life back to my Grannio.

My faith is unfathomable.

How to Buy a Digital Camera

Posted on Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Uncategorized

People are spending more and more money these days
on digital cameras. While there are “traditionalists” who
still cling to using film, the numbers of people moving to
digital is sure to increase. But which camera is right for
you?

Walk into any major electronics store and you’re bound
to be overwhelmed with choices. Not only that but some
of the vocabulary will confuse you as well. Not everyone
knows what “red-eye” and “pixels” are right? This is
actually one of the reasons I think reading a digital
photography book is very helpful PRIOR to actually
buying one.

First thing you need to do is to consider your budget.
Digital Cameras can range anywhere from $50 (actually
sometimes even lower) to upwards of $500. Don’t be
fooled by all the bells and whistles if you never plan on
using them. Stick to your budget! You can always
upgrade to something else down the road if you really
want to.

Now it comes to actually selecting a camera. Try to go
for one that has at least 5 mega-pixels (this refers to
color resolution). This really is the norm for digital
cameras these days. The higher number of mega-pixels
your camera has, the higher the quality of your color
pictures.

The next thing you’ll want to look for is how much memory
can your camera hold? Most if not all cameras come with
built in memory, but the capacity of that memory is
usually pretty low. More expensive cameras have larger
capacity for memory, but you can easily get around this
with a basic camera while also purchasing what is
known as a “flash-memory-card.” This also makes
downloading pictures from your camera to your home
computer “a snap!” Flash-memory-cards come in a
variety of storage capacity, so again think in terms of
your budget and also ask yourself, “how many pictures
will I be taking with this camera?”

Last but not least, take a look at the zoom feature of the
camera. As usual the more expensive cameras can
zoom to amazing levels, while your average camera just
goes to average levels. Again, I know I’m repeating
myself, stick to your budget and ask yourself “What kind
of pictures will I be taking with this camera?” Baby-drool
is probably not something a lot of people want to see up
close. But a flower in a nature preserve may be
something to zoom in on.

As long as you stick to your research, your budget, and
the overall reasons for your use of a digital camera, then
buying a digital camera should not be a difficult task.

Zombie-Italian Horror at It’s Best…and Worst

Posted on Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Uncategorized

Tagline: When the Earth Spits Out the Dead, They Will Rise to Suck the Blood of the Living.

The other night, I dreamed of the perfect movie. It was a strange dream, because the perfect movie starred Mia Farrow’s sister and a guy who looked a bit like Jack Elam. It was also Italian-made, so really bad dubbing was a given. And then there were the zombies. But not just normal shamble-around-and-eat-your-brains zombies. No, there were zombies fighting underwater against sharks. That’s right–sharks. And don’t forget about the nudity. Lots of nudity for no apparent reason. Mediocre acting. Mediocre special effects. Truly, the perfect movie was not what I expected it to be.

I awoke in the morning and realized that my dream was actually more of a nightmare. No sane movie fan would actually consider such silliness to be anywhere near perfect. It had all been a terrible, terrible mistake. Then imagine my surprise when I realized my perfect movie actually existed. It’s title? Zombie.

The movie begins as a seemingly abandoned boat drifts into New York harbor. A couple of cops are sent to investigate, and one quickly becomes a snack for the zombie lurking on board. It turns out the boat belongs to a missing scientist, and this quickly brings his concerned daughter, Ann Bowles (Tisa Farrow, sister to Mia), onto the scene. She meets up with Peter West (Ian McCulloch), a nosy reporter looking for a big story, and the pair decide to trek to the Antilles island chain, the last known location of Ann’s father. Shortly after arriving, they meet Brian (Al Cliver) and Susan (Auretta Gay), who are willing to take them to the isolated Matul Island on their boat.
On the way, Susan decides to strip down to just a thong and go scuba diving. She runs into an underwater-dwelling zombie, but, luckily for her, a shark appears to do battle with the zombie, allowing her to escape (I’m not making this up, folks!). Once they reach Matul Island, the foursome meet Dr. Menard (Richard Johnson), who’s feverishly working on a cure for the strange disease ravaging the island. It seems that this disease is killing the locals and then causing them to rise from the grave in search of human flesh. From that point on, all hell breaks loose.

I realize that the summary is a little long, but Zombie takes forever to actually get all the characters in the same location. For a good bit of the film, we switch back and forth between the main characters and Dr. Menard. And once they’re finally all together, the climax of the movie is nearly in sight. But by that time, you’ll probably find that you and anyone else watching are in full Mystery Science Theater mode. It’s just one of those movies that’s more enjoyable when you’re making fun of it with your friends.

And believe me, there’s a lot to make fun of. The prime example, of course, being the showdown between an aquatic zombie and a hungry shark. While it’s certainly original, the sheer goofiness of the scenario will no doubt elicit laugher from even the most hardcore zombie fan. But what else would you expect from Italian director, Lucio Fulci? While his films have occasional moments of genuine creepiness, they’re most often just downright silly. Of course, he was always working with a budget of about five bucks, so maybe it wasn’t entirely his fault.

There’s also the fact that everyone in the film confronted with a zombie seems to freeze up and stand there, perhaps even tilting their neck to the side in order to give the fiend a clear path to their jugular. What the hell ever happened to running for your life?! I know the undead would be a terrifying sight, but I imagine the prospect of being eaten alive would be even more horrifying. I know it’s just a horror movie, but I’d like to see some realistic behavior demonstrated from time to time.

On a more positive note, fans of gore and nudity (count me among this crowd) won’t go away completely disappointed. The women in the film are above average, and the violence certainly lives up to the reputation established by Italian cinema. We get gunshot wounds galore, lots of arteries severed by undead teeth, and even a nice scene involving a woman’s eyeball and the jagged wood from a battered door.

But if you’re not a fan of such things, your expectations should probably plummet. Zombie is good for a cheap thrill and not much else. Anyone looking for artistic merit will be left scratching their head (unless you define artistic merit as later adding an opening and closing scene set in New York in order to capitalize on the success of Dawn of the Dead). It’s classic Italian horror cinema, and that’s about the biggest compliment and insult that I can give it.

The Manticore of Sumer [Attack by the Man-Eater: Part II] Chapter #8 The Dead Attack Fast

Posted on Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Uncategorized

Chapter Eight
The Dead Attack Fast

The middle aged drunk asked calmly, “Give me some money,” I was a stranger, walking along the creek, the bum feeling he could persuade me of some loose change, trying to anyhow, he also wanted to talk, tell me what he had seen:

“Cat! That thing was a cat, in a cat’s body, red; wild eyed, a voice like pipes, swift”… (He was falling about, perhaps hit by the needle like tail of the Manticore, it had leaped on him I figured—like it had leaped on me and my friends in Lima, it had these long pine like needles on its tail—poisoned, and it shot out from its tail in all directions, paralysing anyone in its way, and here was this bum, now spitting out goo from his mouth, like a horse slobbering over some grass and substance dripping out along its sides—he looked like he was dying, I saw some of the Mantic ore’s needles in him.

“Where,” I asked, “where did you see him?” he was on the ground, exhibiting much fear, and still spitting up and out of his mouth that same slime, that fat and creamy like substance, perhaps his insides. He kept saying ‘…the cat,’ holding his head; he started laughing at the whole thing, pointed to the hills on the left side of the creek. I started to hum that magical chant for some odd reason, knowing the Manticore was about. I left him where he lay, and headed further up the creek.

The night came upon the valley fast, twilight seeped over the hills, an uncanny feeling come over me, as if the world of dead souls were upon me, the resurrected ones from the tombs where the second souls lived, and seemed to have a second life, or could have with the right enchantments. Thus, I felt the presence of the Manticore, why or how I don’t know. I have to admit I was enchanted with the idea of the magic that surround this phenomenon, possessive of it almost, and unconsciously had hoped to find its secrets, and consciously prayer to see the Manticore once more.

This shouldering tribulation put me in a vulnerable circumstance: if I did see her, it means my death, or could; if not, I’d wish I’d have tried harder to see her, somewhere along life’s line. For sure, the devil himself was on her shoulder, and would show no mercy; but she was only a part of a trinity of souls, one disconnected from the others. I knew she had heard Enrique’s summons; evil has wings, and can attack fast, so I’ve learned. She had two faces, one evil, one beautiful, I had noticed that in the mirror; in a dream, I could even feel that: what face would she put on this evening, if indeed she appeared: so I wondered.

Evil had revealed itself in this peaceful valley, the very place I called my second home. And like lighting striking a tree and it falling on top of you, I collapsed flat on my back, the ground shook around me, it sounded like an earthquake to my ears: like trumpets, I was entombed with a body over me blue eyes, a deep red body, she had changed, the ill omen had found her feast, me, as her three rows of teeth grinded in my face; the man-eater crouched over me to the point of almost sucking the life out of me: ugly as a dried up heart, her beauty had transferred to some kind of evil looking beast, with bat wings attached to her.

Digital Clocks and the Synchronies in Life

Posted on Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Uncategorized

A look at how digital clocks show synchronies as the new energy become more integrated

I would like to start with the understanding that all things are within me and I am becoming aware on a daily basis that this is so.

I am becoming aware of spirit round me, and the intelligence that this spiritual energy displays. For example, my eyes keep being drawn towards digital clocks to check the time. The numbers on the clock usually form an interesting pattern, like I had a 13:13, 18:18 and a 22:22.

I have also found that spirit can multiply for example I’ve had 06:18 and divide 04:21 where 2 was half four and 1 was half 2. You may think that this is a coincidence, but it is happening many times a day.

In the car I have two digital clocks with slightly different times, one on the dashboard and the other on the radio, and my attention is drawn to the one with an interesting number for me to look at.

Driving along the road yesterday, I left the house and after I had gone about a mile I got inspired to set the trip mile counter, only thinking myself that I would like to check the mileage to where I was going about 20 miles away.

Well just after I got half way there, you can imagine my surprise when I looked at the dashboard and saw the clock at 11.11 and the trip counter at 11.1 miles. I could only admire spirit for organising this event to happen.

How does spirit do this?

I have been wondering this myself for the last few days. Quite often spirit wakes me up in the night to look at the clock. An interesting pattern may appear. For example 5:05 or 6:26 where the two end figures are the same with a different centre figure.

The implications of this are quite interesting. It means that spirits have eyes to see and the intelligence to understand the meaning of the number and which clock has the right numbers. The question is, is it a spirit guide that looks like me with a full body? Which may coexist in the same space and time as me; or is it the impulses of energy themselves that are intelligent?

Like the individual photons of light? This I still have to figure out. I feel both present. I feel the spirit guides coexisting with me and in me. I feel the individual grains of energy on many different levels of my body and consciousness. I feel the consciousness of each cell, each molecule, each atom and each photon of light. I feel the field of energy like an electro magnetic field or aura at each level of my existence. I can move my awareness to each level; I can come out of myself into the field and look back and change my perspective.

What is spirit trying to tell me?

I am a firm believer that these energy fields connect everything in the universe, that the universal energy is involved on every level and in every decision. I am a firm believer that the mind does have free will. The field of energy puts forward a suggestion for an idea, maybe on one level of the mind, body or emotions. But it is the human brain that connects all these levels together and has the knowledge and experience to balance all the levels and make an intelligent decision, or not, depending on what that person decided he wants to create at that moment in time.

When the decision is made the whole of the universal energy rebalances itself and sets the conditions to fulfil that decision.

But it is this understanding that each impulse of energy is intelligent and seems to have eyes to see and a brain to understand that I am finding so fascinating. We all talk about angels, guardian angels and helpers.

Are these impulses of energy the angels?

Size has nothing to do with it. It is difficult to see the difference between the structures of one atom and that of our solar system. The atom has a positive electrical charge in the centre and negative electrons circling around. We have the sun, which you could say is positively charged as it always radiates energy and the planets are negatively charged as they receive the energy from the sun. One could be the same as the other just at a different scale.

Texas Holdem Tournament Strategy – Sit and Go Poker Tournaments

Posted on Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Uncategorized

Welcome to the fourth in my Texas Holdem Strategy Series, focusing on no limit Texas Holdem poker tournament play and associated strategies. In this article, we’ll examine the “Sit and Go” tournament – the most popular online poker tournament format today.

When I first started playing in Sit and Go tournaments, I was beginning to think they called it “sit and go” because you sat down, played a little, then it was time to go do something else since you’d just been whacked and knocked out of the tournament! These tournaments can be really tough, since they’re effectively like being at the “final table” of a regular tournament.

The recent popularity of playing online Sit & Go tournaments sometimes amazes me. On any given evening, you can try to jump into a Sit and Go (SNG) table on Party Poker, for example, and easily find yourself competing just to get into a seat before that table fills up, forcing you to go find another table (especially on lower-entry fee tables). I’ve seen times when it can take up to 10 attempts to get into a Sit and Go tournament table during prime time. That’s because there are literally thousands of players across the world who are hungry to get into these tournaments and hopefully win some money.

All of the major online poker rooms now offer Sit and Go format games now, so you can find a place to play just about everywhere. You can think of these games as being very similar to small “satellite” tournament games that surround the bigger poker tournaments at traditional poker tournament venues. They also somewhat resemble play at a final table in a regular tournament, with one key exception – nobody at this table earned their way to this tournament table – they simply paid their entry-fee to play there. Because of this, the broad range of players and skill levels you’re likely to encounter varies wildly – one of many challenges you’ll face in Sit and Go play.

Generally, there are two types of Sit and Go tournaments offered. Single table and multi-table tournaments. Nowadays, there is also a faster game, sometimes referred to as “Turbo” mode SNG tournaments. In these games, the tempo of the tournament is much faster (blinds go up every 5 minutes instead of 15 minutes), with the blinds increasing much faster and less time allowed to make your decisions. This is a very challenging game format, but it does move along much faster than a traditional Sit and Go tournament.

You can also get into 4-player and heads-up (2 player) games, which just effectively puts you into the poker tournament final table, short-handed mode of operation immediately, so you can play the end-game out from there. I don’t really prefer these games, though, since there are far fewer players and therefore the pool size available to win is much smaller and not as worthwhile.

In general, two-table Sit and Go’s are much more profitable, since they begin with more players (18 to 20), making the prize pool larger and more attractive. Once you know how to play and win in these Sit and Go tournaments and can adjust your play appropriately, the number of tables and players really doesn’t matter as much, since you’ll be able to adapt your play quickly as the situation changes around you.

Some of my favorite places to play Sit & Go tournaments include Party Poker, Poker Stars and PrimaPoker’s Captain Cook’s poker rooms. There are many awesome poker rooms out there, with a wide range of players frequenting each of them. They are all very similar.

There are a number of different entry-fee levels to choose from, typically ranging from $5 up to $5,000. There is very little difference in playing in the lower limit games in the $5 to $30 range. When you get above the $30 threshold, the level of players you’ll encounter improves dramatically. The poker room site typically takes a “rake”, a fee of around 10% for hosting the tournament, and the balance of the funds go into the prize pool. In single-table SNG tournaments, the payout goes to the top 3 finishers. In two-table games, the top 4 places are generally paid.

In higher entry-fee games, you’ll be playing against some very good players. In these high tier games, you’ll encounter some of the best, most dangerous players around. If you’re interested in getting into these high stakes games, one way is to win enough at the lower stake games so that you earn, or leverage, your smaller entry-fees into the bigger games, a traditional way that satellite games work and a good approach to take.

I play in a lot of Sit and Go tournaments and regular tournaments, both online and in casinos and poker rooms. Throughout all of this, I have finally learned how to win consistently at Sit and Go tournaments. There are some key areas that you must focus on and shore up in order to properly “shape” your play and end up in the money.

You’ll need a well-rounded approach, though, to place in the money consistently at Sit and Go tournaments, including:

* Playing Position Correctly – you’ll need to know how to use position in the Sit and Go tournament to your advantage, which hands to play in which positions and how to keep from losing your chips from poor positions. Earlier in the tournament, it’s best to be more conservative with your play by only playing the best hands from the best positions.

* Adjusting to Changing Conditions – the key to winning Sit and Go tournaments is adjusting your play style and approach as the blinds and number of players increases. Done correctly, you’ll end up in the final 3 in the money up to half of the time (no approach you can take will allow you to win all of the time). As the game progresses, you must adjust or the blinds will eat you up.

* Winning Heads-up Play – arguably one of the most misunderstood, yet most fun part of any tournament, is playing heads-up against another good player. Learning to play winning heads-up poker means the difference between being the Winner and 2nd Place – a huge difference in payout in all tournaments goes to the winner, along with the recognition as the champion, so you must learn to play great heads-up poker. In general, you must play much more aggressively heads up than you would otherwise.

* Beating Aggressive Players – see my article on playing vs. aggressive players, which will definitely make a difference for Sit and Go play, as it explains how to take advantage of aggressive and wild players, without losing all of your chips in the process.

* Online Tells – there are many different special tells that you can use when playing online. Do you know them? Do you use them? If not, chances are they’re being used against you! For example, when players use checkboxes online and make a lot of their decisions ahead of time, then suddenly they’re not using the checkbox (because they’re taking longer), that could be a tell that they’re having to think things through more, which could be a tell. If they use checkboxes and act instantly, chances are they don’t have a very good hand, so didn’t even need to think about it (just clicked the checkbox and now waiting on the next card).

* Successful Bluffing and Blind Stealing – one of the most important moves in poker is bluffing the opponents, and in tournament play, you must be capable of successfully bluffing in order to survive the blinds and antes and to win heads-up. You can’t bluff weak players, so don’t even try. You’ll need to learn how determine the style or type of the players, so you’ll recognize who to bluff.

The next time you’re thinking about playing a poker tournament, give the Sit and Go a try. It’s a fast-paced tournament, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience first hand what it’s like to play at that Texas Holdem poker tournament final table.
